Sixteen days to go!

It is feeling more and more real now as I get closer to my Romanian adventure. I move out of my house this Friday (sub-letting my home), shipping pets to cattery, and then off to see my parents before I begin.

I have hopefully left my team with enough to prepare them for the months ahead without me, although as I have been told, I may receive many a facebook post asking for assistance and advice. (More than happy to help!) :)

Looking forward to catching up the head offices of both GSK and the Hospices whilst on my stopover in London (very convenient in that respect) and having the opportunity with meeting with these teams face to face.

Any tips for the journey? Especially on beating jet lag? I will be hitting the ground running when I land with twelve hours between landing and starting at my new role.

Calling for assistance for our book drive!

One of my wonderful work mates, Claire, is putting together a book drive for the Hospices of Hope. We are hoping that on my arrival at the Hospice, we will be able to provide them with classic Australian themed books such as Possum Magic, The Magic Pudding, The Man from Snowy River and much more.

We will be utilising the Book Depository (free delivery and many discounted books) as our forum for collection. If you are interested in donating a few dollars for this cause, please let me know.

Thanks

Dani

Just over a month to go!

The excitement is building now! Just over one month to go before I join the wonderful Hospices of Hope team in Bucharest, Romania. I am nervous about the impending journey having never been to Europe before and know very little of the language or culture. I have started learning basic Romanian, "I understand little Romanian" and "I do not speak Romanian very well". Hopefully this is enough to get me through the first few weeks!

I am new to the blog-o-sphere, I hope that my journey proves to be interesting, I intend to share as much as I can and hopefully inspire others.
